I love learning!

Holy Literature BATMAN I LOVE LEARNING!
And due to recent unfortunate events, no I do NOT mean Ben Aflack...

Great Grandmothers mandible! I missed having something to study. All of this learning has my brain turning. What a great amount of information and so redeeming.

That's the word of the day: redeeming.
To me, it's a liberating word.
A freeing concept.
Taking back.
Renewal.

Today started day numero uno of my Splankna training. GOLLY GEE... Our homework tonight was not to talk about it ... think about it.... practice.... read on it.... I'm just so excited to spend all day tomorrow learning more. This is going to be such an amazing skill to use as a Personal Trainer. Adding together aspects from energy psychology to the physical metastasis shown in the body is going to be a fanFREAKINGtastic tool.
I just want to help all the TIMMMMMEEEEE

SO so wonderful. :) I'm beaming, I'm so excited... Glowing perhaps!
My husband said my new hair cut gave me a renewed confidence, and I'm positive he's right. How amazing a hair cut can be- that you can have such a great change. Even a change you didn't know you needed to make.
Just like with the Splankna training-
It's like what Eleanor Roosevelt said:

What did you do today?
:)

With that, I leave you to comment as I go read:

Fun new adventures

This weekend was the beginning of my three weekends of trips. This first one was a Rip Trainer TRX Course. The Rip trainer for those of you who don't know is a stick with a bungy attached to one end. Because it's asymmetrically loaded, you use your contralateral oblique subsystem.
I sounded smart huh? :) *cheeseing* Just a wee bit proud of that sentence...

For example: Raise your left hand. Look down at your shirt. See the folds that raising your hand created? What direction are they pointed in? ~~The correct answer is diagonally.
That's the reason when we walk we swing opposite hand and foot. That's the "contralateral oblique subsystem". As the Rip Trainer works this, it's main function is for rotational movement... GREAT for the core! 6 pack here I come!! ... ya ya abs are made in the kitchen ... I know ..... *sad face* I know... I'm workin on it!

Well, If you've never heard of TRX check out my mom's blog:
She writes about everything from todays Work Out of the Week, to Nutritious delicacies, to how to have a metabolic blast. It's basically awesome. Just sayin'.

So this Rip course was amazing and I enjoyed every minute of it! Learning from Master Marc was such a blessing. He was very thorough and super informative.

I have already begun reminding my clients to "make apples not apple sauce" which is a cue to activate leg muscles. This is going to be a PHENOMENAL teaching tool and I'm so very very excited to start integrating it into my training.

The first two ladies I have worked with on it have loved it.... the 70 year old man, not so much.

Lesson Learned.

Next conference is this weekend: SPLANKNA!!
pronounced  Splawnk-na
The first a is pronounced with two dotty things above it.
I am so stinking excited for this. OH new avenues ... New Doors.... God honors change and movement.

I am moving my own mountains!! THank God, He has given me that power! :)

In love,
D

Oppie... mistakes

Thank God mistakes are only a moment at a time.
Thank God that I can win every minute,
                                                                 hour,
                                                                            & day!
And you know, Thank GOD that mistakes are only what I make them. If I own my mistakes ... then they aren't mistakes. They are purposeful decisions made to satiate whatever I choose to need.
To be more specific, lets look at
                              what a mistake is:

So if I am choosing these mistakes decisions then they aren't misguided, or wrong.... they are not incorrect or an inaccuracy.
NOTE: I am not making excuses to eat/do/have what ever you want when ever you want.
This is in reference to  the fact that I have been on a strict diet for 2 months...

However, the decisions I make when it comes to these 'cheat' meals are going to reflect the self worth I have. YES I deserve to have chocolate [or insert another vice (that means mistake too... DANG IT!) delicioso here] some times. YES I work hard enough to have chocolate [or other tantalizing treat] some times. And YES I know after said delectability, I am going to work my tail off because now not only am I satisfied but I also FEEL good still because of the grade of goodie I have chosen.

For example:   candy bar      75% coco chocolate square
                                             hoho             Melting pot chocolate fondu
mcdouble     Blue cheese Bison Burger (mmm Diego Zhangs)
                                             cheese          Red Lester!!

Moral of the Story: Spend money on GOOD grade specialities. Don't waste your time on the cheep crap.

OH! look at that: That ties into regular food too~ DON'T BUY CRAP! It actually costs less money to exchange eating out food with ... dare I say it......(I do!) organic food!
Date nights are one thing... but eating out every night, every other night, shall I say more than once a week is using money that you could put towards creating a healthier diet life at home. There really isn't any excuses to not eat healthier. It's not hard to cook healthy food. It's not expensive to buy with all that money you are saving from not eating out as much. Even still, It isn't inconvenient if you prepare.

What gives me the right to dispell these thoughts you ask?

 I USE ALL OF THEM!

Yes I said use because on occasion, I still find my self using them .... Old habits die hard. So it is a constant daily task to remind my self that the intention the American food system has put on our food is in fact FALSE and is not how our bodies are actually meant to be fed.

I submit that we take it back, all the way back, to factory settings.

Join me? :)

In Love, Denise

A fresh direction

r.cfm.gif
One of the reasons why I wanted to start this blog is because there are a few things in life that my husband, Ricky and I have decided it is time to start fresh on.
Thank you Outkast!

- Change of scenery: new one bedroom apartment

- New jobs (Woo!!): Ricky @ Home Advisor (aka Service Magic)
Me @ 24 Hour Fitness Personal Trainer 2, CES, TRX
- Budget Plan: New plan of attack on Money. It will NOT RULE US! :)

and last but definitely not least...

- Outside Appearance: You make Abs in the kitchen. Nutrition is weight loss. Body change gives light to
                                    new hair cuts.

My emphasis here is one the outside appearance aspect. After watching my moms wonderfully amazing and powerful life transition (which I would behoove you to check out here at the TRX trainer) I decided that it was time for one of my own.

Insert Heart-vomit: HUGE thank you to Mom for allowing us to
be on our own, after that Hellacious experience,
and encouraging us, through demonstration, to put our
selves first. Even with no faith in humanity,
I must have faith in myself.
Thank you, you Beautiful, strong, God fearing, woman, you :)

With out further adieu, this is my grand revealing.
Thanks to the Ultimate Candida Diet, I gladly share with you my 2 month process.

Here is the start to something beautiful:

This Candida Diet has been absolutely imperative to my overall health!!

I did not start this diet as a weight loss plan but as a 'get-healthy' plan. Thankfully I have lost quite a bit of weight, bloat, yeast - candida... I am so thankful to Lisa for how wonderful this program has made me feel.
  • My joints no longer hurt.
  • Brain fog is gone.
  • Tired is...get this... TIRED! Tired is not drained, exhausted, blehhh... such a weird feeling... normal...
  • I don't feel bloated. Period or not, there is no bloating.
  • Full after meals is a stomach full thing - like above my belly button- not a large intestine thing which is below belly button.
  • Perhaps TMI but still a bonus: I don't itch on the down-low any more. I thought that was part of life but it's gone.... there is no lower skin pain any more
  • No YEAST INFECTIONS!! AHH! YES!!!!!!!
  • and there is SO MUCH more!!
The diet is tough. The Detox is the first week and is the hardest part, but I am so thankful that I made this decision. I keep telling people,

"It's only ONE week of your whole LIFE. The entire diet is only TWO MONTHS of your life.
For overall health, What is TWO MONTHS?!"

It has been such an amazing experience and I am so stinking excited to be LAUNCHING my life here. At 24 years old, I am getting a grip on my future, on where I am headed and I am taking the tools that God has given me to propel me there. Ricky and I feel so blessed to be able to share in our experiences with you. We both have plans to venture further into the fitness arena :) More disclosure to come later.

I leave you with this: April 2014, THe Northern!!

...and 12 inches of hair later, almost 5 inches in the waist, and 15 lbs of fat GONE,  here I am:

Back to factory settings :D
